Zion

We are in Zion right now!  Mark's mom and dad flew in from Florida last weekend and yesterday we drove up here to Zion to spend a couple of days then on up to Lehi and Alpine to see Mark's two sisters and their families that live up there!  I already can't believe that I have lived this close to someplace this beautiful and have not spent more time up here.  We are having a wonderful time and I will blog all about it once we finally sit still long enough!  P.S. I have no idea why this is all one big link.  I think I attached the font to the picture somehow but I am too lazy this morning to try and fix it! :)

Just more of my Boys...

The other day I was putting the a new liner in the trash can when Taj decided to take the old bag out for me!  How thoughtful!  (Carolyn...I happen to remember that you have a picture of Eden doing this same thing when she was this age! That's what inspired me to grab my camera :) 

And then later that night Taj and his Dad were having the best time playing around so I snapped a couple of cute pictures of my two favorite men! :)

Buns on the Run

Taj has decided it is a fun game to take off running whenever I am trying to get him in the tub for bathtime!  The boy loves bathtime...but not without a quick game of chase these cute buns first! :)

Taj Man Walking

We have lift off!  Taj is walking now!  This was taken about a week ago when he was still a little wobbly but as of tonight he has started running!  We still have some drunken sailor moments where he can't keep a straight line...but for the most part he is catching on fast!

Dominican Diva

I have had so many fun things happen to me lately!  Week before last I got a visit from a long lost friend.  Yanery is Dominican (hence the name I dubbed her) but we met in Missouri!  I served a mission for my church there and she was in my first ward.  She has a wonderful family and took my little greenie self under their wing.  She was always a huge help to the missionaries.  She would drive us anywhere and go on team up with us all the time. One time we were driving around with her looking for her lost dog...and well we hit the dog.  That was a crazy night...but Baby (the dog) was ok!  Anyhow...I have lots of fun memories with this girl and her twin sister.  She is now married and lives in San Francisco.  She was in LV for a couple of days and looked me up on whim hoping I still lived here...and yup!  I do!  She looks fabulous (as usual) and we had a really fun day together just hanging out.  She did do my makeup for me like old times and I loved it! Sigh!  I like my Dominican Diva!  And Yanery...when you read this which I know you will since you are a blog stalker...you had better comment! :)

An Ode to PEZ

I love PEZ.  No I do not collect the dispensers (although I must say I am now super excited to see my friend Ashley's collection!!! see comments on "nothing new" post).  I am in it straight for the candy!  I love PEZ.  And so it is a typical staple gift for me on most birthdays and Christmas.  But this year Mark took it to the next level.  Please see the statistics below.  He provided these with the gift!

• 9.16 lbs of PEZ
• 1,010 packs
• 6,060 individual pieces
• 17,675 calories
• 4,545 grams of sugar

I told him I could have probably done without the calorie and sugar count...but it is interesting nonetheless.  :)

I LOVE MY LIFE!

Ok husbands...prepare to take notes.  Mark invented the BEST holiday EVER and it is called Nickelanukah (Nickel's birthday + Hanukah= Nickelanukah)! Which I also like to refer to as (while singing the melody) "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

  Wait first of all I would like to say how flattered I am by the overwhelming response to the lame post that I resorted to last week.  Ok...if you know me you are likely to know that I love opening gifts.  I really really like opening them right when I get them too.  I am a big fan of instant gratification. :) So in order to encourage this...Nickelanukah is a holiday where I get one gift every day seven prior to my birthday.  Have I mentioned that I LOVE this holiday?  And there are other bonuses too....foot rubs, dishes done, if the baby wakes up in the night there is no silent waiting game as to who get him...mark does.  Why?  Its NICKELANUKAH!   So let me give you a quick summary of my seven days of bliss (and this is just the actual gifts). 

• Day 1- KT Tunstall CD
• Day 2- Food Processor
• Day 3- Cook Book
• Day4-  A Good Cutting Knife
• Day 5- Flowers
• Day 6- PEZ (see additional post for details)
• Day 7- Mark surprised me and took the day off of work and arranged babysitters for Taj all day!

AND THEN...on and around my birthday was also filled with wonderful thoughts and cards and serenades and solos (thank you Jen!) from my family and friends!  I am overwhelmed by how many wonderful kind fun witty creative people I have in my life.  THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!  This might very well have been the best birthday I have ever had!  I love you all!  And thank you Mark for my wonderful cross cultural holiday and being my best friend.  

Nothing New

So I am sorry that I have not posted anything new lately. Our computer is actually "in the shop" so I am using my Dad's computer to create this post. I actually have lots to post about these days too. So a little taste of things to soon be posted about would include but is not limited to the following: Dominican Divas, Traveling Taj's, 6000 pieces of pez and special little holiday known as Nickel-anukkah!
