Goblin Baby....

Ok so I don't know whether to blame being pregnant or just having a two year old or a combination of both but I have found myself fairly exasperated with my son as of late.  And being a die hard fan of this movie I have even heard my thoughts say "Goblin King!  Goblin King!  Take this baby ay away from me!"  which (if you are one of the few people who hasn't seen this movie) would mean that David Bowie should pop up and take Taj away to his castle and play with him until I make an effort to come find him through the Labyrinth.  Well...the more I think about this the more I think that Taj would like this set up just as much (if not more) than me.

This is a great little video but if its too long for you just start the movie at minute 3 and watch the last 30 seconds and you will see what I mean about Taj LOVING this here Goblin set up!  In fact I half wonder if the Goblins wouldn't get worn out first and return Taj to me early!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Taj and I (Mark) need to start practicing this trick for the next Ward talent show. Rad!

In addition...

So we were at a friend's house the other night and they had these glasses lying around.  Taj took such a liking to them they let us take them home.  Well just so you know...he wears them around now.  There are two teeny spots you can see through in the middle of the lens but needless to say vision is limited.  But it doesn't seem to put a damper on his singing or muscle flexing skillz...or his disdain for the lame use of 90's lingo.

*in case you can't tell the last line of the video is Taj looking down his nose at me and saying "uh...are you okay?"

Eye See You...

So we hear often that Taj looks A LOT like Mark and admittedly  he does...

But I've always felt like he got my eyes.....

Bike Trailer

So we made a significant unplanned purchase yesterday.  Mark works part time at REI and ever since his first day there he has had a bike trailer on his wish list.  Well seeing as we would need a double one (since our number of babies will be doubling here soon) and that Mark is never one to skimp on quality (case and point...me! :)
the one on his wish list was MEGA-bucks.  Well...one got returned to the store yesterday right when Mark got there for his shift (apparently they don't normally even carry this model in the stores and they sellout online all the time and are really hard to track down).  So now there is this perfect, just the one he's always dreamed of bike trailer there at the store...AND it just so happens that there is a 50% off sale going on too.  Then somehow Mark gets an additional employee discount as well and long story short we bought it, but we got it at over 70% the normal retail price.  Merry January to Mark and Taj.  But to no one's surprise Taj adores it!  And I can't complain because they have already been off for a couple of rides leaving me here to enjoy my books or do this her post!
He knows what's coming!  He is was watching Mark set it up with lots of help and excitement!
This is Taj showing you his muscles (or "muggles" as he likes to put it...I wonder if he has been reading the Harry Potter books too lately?)

All about the Benjamin's!

So tonight Mark came home from work with our "allowance" in hand.  A whopping $20 bucks!  Anyway I was in the middle of dinner in the kitchen and just to be sassy I grabbed it and stuck it in my shirt and then promptly forgot it was there.
Then right after dinner we went to Costco.  When we were walking in Mark was holding Taj and I was chatting with my friend on the phone for like the first 5 min in the store and then we split up for like 10 min or so.  Anyway when we reunited Mark walked up to me with the BIGGEST GRIN on his face and that would be because I had a twenty dollar bill hanging out the top of my shirt, likely the whole time we were there.
So I was this 6 month pregnant lady, not looking cute, waddling through Costco with a $20 hanging out of my cleave.  Only in Vegas baby!

This boy likes a good cheeseburger...

He slammed that whole thing

I'm a Good Guesser!

So my friend Lindsey had a blog giveaway to whoever could guess the number of pens that she had in this ziplock bag!  Fancy stuff!  Her hubby works at the Hyatt and always comes home loaded with pens and she wanted to purge a few of them.  Well... I guessed and I WON!
So today I got this big package in the mail addressed to the "Good Guesser!"
Whatever could it be?
Ah yeah baby!  A giant bag of pens!  For some reason office supplies really do bring me lots of delight!  I have already stocked all the spots in the house that I like to have pens.  It is blissful!  I'm so stoked I won!  I'm so stoked I got a big present in the mail today!  Made me totally happy!
Lindsey's a hoot too by the way and a blossoming movie maker.  You can catch some of my favorite lindsey moments here and here!
Thanks Lindsey!

Christmas 2008

So after all the traveling and visitors of late we were very ready for a low-key lazy Christmas, which is just what we got and it was WONDERFUL!  Taj's gifts were pretty much all Thomas the Trains but that was exactly what he wished for so he was happy!  We didn't even wrap things.  We would just pull one out of the room at a time and play with it for a few minutes before we added a new one to the loot.  It dragged our little Christmas out and it was super fun.  Then Mark and I started a new tradition.  We had gotten each other 3 small surprises for Christmas and instead of wrapping them we hid them around the house and gave each other clues to find them.  It was fun!  I love my little family.
This is the face he made every time he saw a new gift!  The wide open mouth also included a long drawn out gasp and a "Woah! Cool!"
This is where these two could be found for most of the day!
Then that night we got invited over to our very good friends the Ungurens for dinner!  It was delicious and wonderful!  Look at that spread and her entire house is decorated lovely!
They are the best kind of friends that we could just sit around with for hours and talk about pretty much anything or nothing at all.  Its the best.
Blake's mom gave him a book of baby pictures so Gavin had a fun time showing Mark all the pictures of his dad when he was younger.
Then here is Blake with their new boy Cannon (look at that face!), then Blake's mama Dana and Hannah herself!
It was wonderful!
The End.
