Fake Zoo....
Here is another post that is WELL overdue. A while ago some girlfriends of mine introduced me to the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary (which I now call the fake zoo). It is SUPER close to my house and quite affordable! It was really fun and I very much preferred it to the real LV Zoo (which is so so sad). Here are some cute pictures of our play date!
These goats escaped from the petting zoo pin (a common occurrence I gathered) and Taj was making the "ohhhhhhhhh your in troooooouble" face.
So those goats are not shy!!! You have to be a little bit brave to enter the pin, which luckily I am (but just a little)! I have my friend Amy's son Thomas in my arms. He and I preferred to stay a level above the feeding frenzy, however Taj could have cared less. He just liked to slam the pin gate over and over again. He didn't have any food so the goats could have cared less about him as well!
Can't you just read Thomas' face like a book in this photo? "I am having fun. I am having fun? Am I having fun?" Its cut out of the pic but Taj is slamming the gate. By the way, there are two gates...he was not the reason for the breakout goats (at least I don't think he was)
Hello handsome!
These are my friends, Holly and Amy! Holly has 3 darling boys too and I somehow didn't get any pictures!! What the?
I really really dig this little kid!
Just happy to be here!
So in the first pic I was like "hey alright fun!" then by the second you can see my "am I having fun?" face too. Remember...just a little brave.
Alright and this is Clara, Amy's little girl! She and I also get a long like two peas in a pod! Don't you love her pants?!? Her mother is a snazzy seamstress! :)
Thanks for the play date ladies! We should do it again soon!

Flat Stanley
So while ago (just before school got out) our nieces who live in Lehi, Ut mailed us a Flat Stanley. What is a Flat Stanley...I mean who is Flat Stanley you ask? Well he is a little boy who got flattened when a bulletin board fell on him. But ever the optimist he took advantage of the killer travel rates and started exploring the world via envelope! Our cute nieces sent him our way to party in Vegas a little bit and here is some of our adventure with him.
Stanley was very opinionated when it came to the music selection during the ride downtown.
And you can only imagine how restless he was after spending so much time in an envelope!
However, after some talking to he decided to settle down and fasten that safety belt!
Once downtown we hit the town we saw all the major sites. Stanley loved it and was a hit with the ladies!
Come again Stanley! We had a great time with you! :)

Independence Day
Ok you know the feeling where you get a couple of posts behind, so you avoid doing current stuff/idea post because you want to do the other ones first but then you realize that about 10 years have gone by and your lonely little blog has only seen some political campaigning and sibling rivalry in the past long while? Well in order to nip my procrastination in the bud I am cutting straight to the most recent event, our 4th of July. I still haven't given up hope that the other events will get posted but I can tell you right now it won't happen chronologically.
We went to my brother's house for the 4th! And it was fabulous! His wife Bonnie is an AMAZING cook. Its sort of like eating at a restaurant but you get to be bare footed and no one cares that Taj is wandering around the house while eating his corn on the cob! We ate dinner, played around and then went out front to "set off" fireworks, but soon into it (although not as soon as one might expect) we discovered that the fireworks we had were all "pop-em" kind with the exception of the sparklers. So it was an E for everyone firework event but still wonderful!
Did I mention there were Ice Cream Cones??? This was Taj's first cone ever but not his last. He LOVED it.
My husband doubles as a jungle gym and looks super hunky all at the same time! :)
Can you see all her muscles going into this! Most impressive! We even got her brave enough to snap the pop-em things in her fingers before the night was over!
My cute sister-in-law! :)
Is it me or is he melting that ice cream with just his good looks?

A little sister's got to do what a little sister's got to do...
Carolyn said: "Yes, those are hilarious! And I'm so glad you didn't post the pictures of me!!"
Cathy thinks: "Hey! What a great idea!"
