Oh No We Didn't!

So ever since Taj's "haircut" from a few weeks ago we have had this game plan in place for Halloween!  Taj went as his Grandpa Owen who happens to be a missionary for our Church right now and sports the same haircut that Taj has in the picture below!
Our only real plans this Halloween was attend our Ward's Fall Festival so we knew everyone there would get it. :)  Tonight, on the real Halloween, Mark has to work so Taj and I are going to hold down the fort and hand out the candy!
But the ward party was a blast and full of all the best things about a Fall Festival.  There was face painting, pie eating contests and cupcake walk!  Above is Taj reaping his rewards from said cupcake walk!
For the most part Taj would just continue running around in circles with or without the music.
Mark won the pie eating contest!  That's my man!
And for the first part of the night my brother and his family joined us!  They had dinner with us at our house so after dinner they rolled to the party with us to check it out.
It was a good time!  Hope you all have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Morgan Lane...

So this past week my niece Morgan came to stay with us for four days.  I love my nieces so I was excited to have her and also figured it would be a good little test run for having two kids...well except that Morgan is 5 and potty trained already and the youngest in her family so she warms up to the big sister role really fast. So yeah...good practice for having a newborn with a "strong willed" 2 year old boy. :)  All the same...the visit was fantastic!
We loved having her and she really was a big help around the house.  Taj ADORED her!  After the first few hours I saw him just sigh...walk up to her and
give her the biggest bear h
ug I have ever seen him give with the biggest grin plastered on his face.
She was like "uh..he won't let go." And he wouldn't.  It was like he had been waiting for her to come and play with him all his life.  It was top five cutest things I've ever witnessed. :)  And ever since she's left Taj has wandered the house saying "Morgan?  Yooho
o where are you?" a few times.
Come again soon Morgie, we miss you already!
They were helping me make "sgetti" and its important to sample the sauce to make sure its just right!
That look on his face pretty much sums up his expression during her entire visit.

Tag Nabit...

1) I was up at BYU living in Raintree Apartments with some very cool roomies.  Let me just say we cruised around in a navy minivan with the rearview mirror duck-taped on.  jealous?
2)I was majoring in Art History...uh mainly cuz I thought it was cool (which it is).  After the mish I changed the major to Sociology and still didn't finish.  My Dad loves to still ask me to say something in Art History.
3) I had fabulous hair because my sister Carolyn was in hair school and I was the guinea pig go to gal, but I loved it.  I went through  a lot of looks that year!
4) Loved going to punk rock shows and pretty much any local band I could find every weekend.
5) Spent many many nights playing Mafia with lots of friends for hours.  It was intense.
To-Do List Today...
1) Dust/ Vacuum
2) This post! :)
3) Go through the mail I have been avoiding for a week.  I have decided that I want to start cutting coupons now but what that has amounted to thus far is piles of junk mail that I procrastinate going through.  Good start no?
4) Pack away non-pregnant clothes and hang up all the maternity ones in my closet.  For the last week I have been living out the box/pile of maternity clothes sitting at the foot of my bed.
5) Play with Morgan!  My 5 year niece is down to play with Taj and I for 4 days and we are quite excited.  Taj already gave her the biggest bear hug I have ever seen him give with this huge grin.  He seriously wouldn't let go.  It was awesome!
Go-To Snacks....
In all honesty I am not a big snacker but fear not I make it up in proportions when I get around to my meals.
1) TCT (Toasted Cheese Tortilla).  This is most often lunch.  My friend Sarah Clark taught me about the raw tortillas you can buy at Costco and then just toast them off on your stovetop.  They taste just like they are homemade and I have been hooked for years now.
2) Carnation Instant Breakfast.  Everyone that has ever lived with me will testify that these are not optional for me, they are mandatory. I have had these for breakfast my entire life.  I'm not exaggerating.
3) Spicy BBQ pretzels.  This is mainly a pregnancy thing but they are GOOD!
4) String Cheese
5) yogurt
Well how exciting was that 5 point insight into my life! :)
If I were a Millionaire...
1) Pay off all debt!  I LOVE dreaming about that...I am talking cars, mortgage, everything!
2) Buy us iphones.  Mainly for the totally happiness this would provide for my husband.
3) Fly all my sisters here for a week while also providing house cleaning and babysitting services in their absence at home.  Oh yeah...that's a good one!  My only request is that I get first dibs on Carolyn cutting my hair!
4) Buy lots of macadamia nuts (which would have been on favorite snack list if I could afford them) and shell fish.  Hannah...you, me and Joe's crab shack every night for a week?  You there?
5) Fly my little family out for a week to Disney World in FL.  Which would conveniently include hang time with Grandma and Grandpa Snavely as well as surf time for Mark!
Places I've Lived...
1) Las Vegas, NV
2)Provo, UT
3) Independence, MO
4)Orem, Ut
5) Las Vegas, NV
Jobs I've Had...
1) Dress up like Wendy from Wendy's for charity events.
2) Zuka Juice which is now Jamba Juice
3) Victoria's Secret Beauty (so the lotion and makeup side aka the PG side!)
4) Gymboree Store Manager
5) Assistant to the Vice President of an Engineering Firm
5.5) Graphic Designer. :)

An Effort to Summarize my Summer...

So this post will be chronologically backwards....
I am just trying to post some of the great pictures I have collected all summer and have been meaning to post.  So this will quite the random sampling of photos and events.
This is my friend Kimberly (or as Mark likes to call her Kimberlink!)  We meet via my design blog and have become GREAT friends!  She came to town a couple of weeks ago on business so we got to go to lunch!  Actually she treated me to a delicious lunch for my b-day!  She is really impressive, thoughtful, practical, funny and nice.  It was just what I needed.  She started my birthday celebration off right!
Then in July Mark's sister Barbara and her three girls came to visit us for a week!  It was great!  They adored Taj and visa versa.  In the picture above the girls (who are perma-silly) have declared him their king and would carry him around in this basket.  Look at his face!  I think he liked it.
Their visit was also the beginning of my feeling a bit crummy due to baby #2, so since I wasn't the best tour guide around we spent lots of time at the park.  But the girls made the most of it!
Here is Mark with his sister and yes...two of the girls are twins...you are not just seeing double! :)  We love you Irwins!  Come again anytime!
Then just the week before the Irwin visit had some other great friends come into town from California, The Carrs!  John grew up with Mark in FL but now lives in Cali with his wife Kristen and son Dylan (who is less that a week younger than Taj).    John and Mark used to breakdance a lot around Florida back in the day.  Looks like John has held onto most of his moves!  Dylan is just rocking out in the background.  John is not in fact forcing his son to hold his leg up like that (promise!)
These two have a great time together!
Soul Brothers!
Then this is a trip we made up to the ever lovely Panaca, NV for our Family Reunion!  Uncle Pete has a great piece of land that is cousin and grandkid HEAVEN!  Here is one of many main attractions at the reunion, unlimited access to climb all over cool old tractors!
A little ride on the family float in the annual Panaca Pioneer Day parade down main street!
Our family color was red....we normally aren't this coordinated. :)
Taken in the sites!  Taj skipped his nap this day too and is obviously having a hard time containing his enthusiasm for the events! :)
Ok...so that is a good taste of most of our summer.  Now that I have caught up on that I can start blogging all the exciting day to day haps around here.
